Description

This is a painting I'm working on right now. I can't decide if I must use a background or something else.
Also the rose isn't finished yet. Any ideas are wellcome!
The picture is kinda blurry (it's a photo), and I just don't seem tot get a good shot of it (flashlights, blurryness etc.)
It's too big for my scanner too.. How can I get a good picture of it?
Oh, it's btw an acrylic painting, dunno exacly how many hours are in it.. more than 10 I guess ;)

Idea itīs really beautiful, maybe the backgroudn itīs very dark, and the rose details canīt view so good.. Just this, and compsoition itīs a bit "flat", some more dynamic work in composition could make a great work. Keep working!

I think a stronger connection between the two main elements, the roses and the hands would be good. I do not think a background that distracts will help, just a development of the elements/message.

Very nice work. Just work more on your hands. :)

For a better photo (depending on your camera) you should use a tripod.

I love the expressiveness of hands, and I love dramatic lighting, so this looks like a good start to me! The plain background is appropriate, as Redredwine noted. Watch those fingers, on the left hand particularly; they're looking a little sausage-esque. It will also be important to make the lighting on the rose consistent with the hands.

Now you said it, I see indeed a bit sausagefingers :p thanks, I'll try to fix that!
I tried to make the light consistent (coming from above etc.), but wanted the hands to have more contrast, or is that disturbing?

the hands are amazing though yes, they need more work, indeed :). they captured my eyes the first time i saw the image.

Very good work on the shadows of the hands, particularly the left one. I wish the rose had been a bit more realistic looking though. But the concept is wonderful and the simple style works! Well done!
